2011
Dec. Announced that its annual LCD TV sales volume exceeded 10 million sets as of 14 December 2011, the first enterprise in the PRC to exceed 10 million sets in its annual sales volume of LCD TVs in the global market.
 
      Formed a strategic partnership with Sampo Corporation of Taiwan (“Sampo”) to sell TCL-branded TVs to the Taiwan market through Sampo’s agencies and distribution network.
 
Oct.   Mr. CHENG Fong Ting, Edmond has been appointed as the chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of the Company; Mr. YUAN Yi has resigned as CFO of the Company.
 
June   Dr. TSENG Shieng-chang Carter has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the Company, and a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee of the Company; Mr. LEONG Yue Wing has resigned as a non-executive director of the Company.
 
      TCL Holdings (BVI) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company entered into the Equity Transfer Agreement with Talent Bright International Limited (“Talent Bright”) and agreed to sell the entire equity interest in TCL King Electronics (Shenzhen) Company Ltd. (“TCL King Shenzhen”) to Talent Bright.
 
      The Company entered into the Acquisition Agreement with TCL Corporation (“TCL Corporation”), and agreed to acquire from TCL Corporation its equity interest in TCL Optoelectronics Technology (Huizhou) Co., Ltd. The acquisition was completed on 18 January 2012.
       TCL King Electrical Appliance (Huizhou) Co. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, entered into an agreement with The People’s Government of Hohhot in relation to an investment project which involves construction of a vertically integrated LCD TV production plant and ancillary facilities in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.
 
March  Introduced three newly developed Super Smart Internet TV series, namely X9200, V8200 and P7200 in Beijing.
 
 
2010
Dec.   The main plant of 8.5 generation LCD panel production line of Shenzhen Huaxing Photoelectrics Technology Company, Limited, a joint venture between TCL Corporation (the Group’s ultimate holding company) and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, was completed ahead of schedule.
 
     In the 44th International Consumer Electronics Show, TCL ranked 25th among the “Top 50 Global Consumer Electronics Brands” and No.6 on the list of “Global TV Brands”, At the same time, the brand was awarded “Top 10 Chinese Consumer Electronics Brands” and “Top 20 Global TV Brands” for the fifth consecutive years. It was also named “The World’s Quality Flat TV of the Year” and the “Best Functional 3D TV Award of the year”.
 
     The Group disposed of the entire equity interest of TCL Digital Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited.
 
Sep.   Mr. Zhao Zhongyao has been appointed as an executive director and the chief executive officer of the Company and a member of the executive committee of the Board; Mr. YU Guanghui has tendered his resignation as the chief executive officer of the Company. His other posts in the Group remain the same (including being an executive director of the Company and a member of the executive committee of the Board).
 
     According to a joint research study by R&F Global Ranking Information Group and Beijing Famous Brand Evaluation Co. Ltd., TCL maintained the No. 1 TV brand position among the “Most Valuable Chinese Brands” in 2010 with a brand value of RMB45.8 billion.
 
July  The Group announced that it had entered into agreements for transferring its land use rights in the PRC to TCL Corporation.
 
April  The Group successfully completed a share placement and subscription, raising net proceeds of approximately HK$523 million.
 
March   The Group held a press conference to introduce the first 3D Internet TV in the world.
 
 
2009
Dec.  According to a joint research study by RREEF, Global Billboard and Beijing Famous-Brand Evaluation Co. Ltd., TCL maintained the No.1 TV brand position among the “Most Valuable Brand in the PRC” in 2009 with a brand value of RMB41.7 billion.
 
Oct.   Mr. Yu Guanghui, an executive director and the president of the Company, become CEO of the company.
 
Sep.   The Group’s LCD TV Integration Plant commenced operation and the ground breaking ceremony for the third phase of TCL LCD Industry Park in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province.
 
      Mr. Leong Yue Wing, the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and an executive director of the Company, became a senior consultant of the Company and remained as executive director of the Company.
 
Aug.   TCL was elected by CCTV as “60th Anniversary of the Founding of New China”-60 Brands Promoting China’s Economy and with Impact on People’s Live.
 
July    The Group’s LCD flat-screen TV production lines in its Chengdu plant in Sichuan, China commenced operation.
 
June   TCL became the official partner of the Chinese Men’s National Basketball Team and the official sponsor of the Chinese Basketball Association,
 
        The Group announced the completion of disposal of equity interest in a subsidiary in Wuxi.
 
April   The Group signed an agreement with Chengdu municipal government to set up two new LCD flat-screen TV production lines in its Chengdu plant in the high-tech district in Sichuan, China.
 
Jan.   TCL was selected as Global Top 20 Enterprises in the TV industry for the “International Branding, Global Branding” themed selection at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the USA.
 
       The Group announced that it had entered into the Framework Agreement for disposing of its interests in a subsidiary in Wuxi.
 
 
2008
Dec.    TCL and Intel signed the Strategic Co-operation Agreement to develop next generation internet TV.
 
The Group announced that it had entered into formal negotiation for disposing of its interests in a company in Wuxi.
 
The Group announced to acquire a piece of land in Huizhou from TCL Optoelectronics (Huizhou) for building a LCD television plant with expected initial production capacity of 3 million sets of LCD televisions and 2 million sets of semi-finished LCD kits per year. This LCD television plant is located near the LCD module factory owned by TCL Corporation in Huizhou so as to obtain benefits from vertical integration.
 
The Company announced share consolidation on the basis that every 10 issued and unissued shares of HK$0.1 each will be consolidated into one consolidated share of HK$1.00.
 
Nov.    TCL became the official partner of 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.
 
TCL won the bid in China rural “Household Appliance Subsidy Scheme” in 14 provinces/cities, which will run for 4 years.
 
Sep.    The Group introduced the world’s first high-definition interactive TV - LCD TV X9 series.
 
June   The Company announced the proposed subscription of new shares to redeem the convertible bonds.
 
March  The Group introduced China’s first household 3D LCD TV in Beijing.
 
Jan.      The Group’s “Natural Light” technology shone in the Consumer Electronics Show (“CES”).
